A day in the life...
Wednesday, June 2, 2010

I posted – and promised – that for the month of June I will record my food intake and activitiy to motivate me (and maybe you?) to reach for some short and long term goals.

I want to:
• Lose 5 – 8 pounds by July 1
• Do strength training and cardio at least 3 times a week and really work on gaining some definition.
• Eat for a healthy me – no more cheating just for the love of food. Cottage season is full of yummies and I want to enjoy them (in moderation) knowing that my metabolism is up and my body is in great shape.

… Ultimately, I want to feel great during the day, sleep well during the night and rock my bikini at the lake. Really long term, I want to be smokin' at my wedding next July.

So here’s how it’s going today:

Activity: I slept horribly. But, took the opportunity of doing some errands to walk a load today. I parked far from the entrance to both Costco and Ikea and then walked around and around inside for a bit. Strenuous? No… but given my day today and how I’m feeling, I’m okay with it.

Breakfast:
3 cups water
½ cup pineapple
1 poached egg
1 piece whole grain toast with scant butter

Lunch:
1 cup tomatio vegetable soup
1 piece garlic bread (I know, but I did resist the hot dog temptation at IKEA!)
1 coffee with 1% milk
1 cup water
1 dino gummy (sampling the treats I bought for my nephew’s birthday)

Dinner:
2 cups water
½ chicken breast - grilled
1 tomato - sliced
2 cups spinach salad with balsamic and olive oil
1 piece whole grain bread with scant olive oil

Snack:
vanilla yogurt with pineapple and cinnamon
2 cups water

Her easy manner makes it comfortable to chat as I work out, or to just concentrate on the effort required through a particularly difficult exercise. I..."
