Sleep... sweet sleep.
Thursday, June 3, 2010

One of the first things I notice when I eat better and drink an appropriate amount of water is that I sleep better. Last night I went to sleep easily, stayed asleep for almost 11 hours (except for being rudely awaken by my bladder twice) and woke up feeling super refreshed. I feel guilty writing that I slept for 11 hours, but hey – I don’t have kids, I set my own work hours and I NEVER set an alarm. Not everone is so lucky, but take the chance when you can to rest… Really rest. Studies show we are all approximately 2 weeks behind on our sleep… Catch up when you can and notice how much better the world looks through rested eyes.

Activity: Does running around after kids for an hour count? (Yes -- we were literally running and playing... in the rain for most of it. My job rocks.)

6 small roasted potatoes
1 slice whole grain bread with bruschetta mix
